Taiwan Industrial Bank of the Japanese Colonial Period was the predecessor of the Taiwan Cooperative Bank. The Taiwan Industrial Bank was reorganized to become the Taiwan Province Cooperative Bank, and was a financial organization under special permission but without the identity of a bank. It obtained qualification of a legal entity in 1985. In line with the government’s policy of financial reform, Taiwan Cooperative Bank was reorganized to Taiwan Cooperative Bank Co., Ltd. in January 2001 and listed in TWSE in November 2004.
